During North Korean leader Kim Jong Il's just-ended Beijing visit, China agreed to give the North at liberty aid because its neighbor is facing difficulties and Chinese population traditionally want to help, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

Kim, who arrived according to train Monday for a surprise unofficial visit and went family circle Wednesday, received word that China would propose help to build the fatherland ministry spokesman Kong Quan said.

''One aspect is that the proces of North Korean people's construction at family circle has attained some progress and another aspect is that it's also facing any difficulties,'' Kong said. ''So Chinese family out of traditional friendship, will make progress a step further in strengthening the traditional friendship between the sum of two units countries' peoples.''

Whether the aid will include [i]vis viva[/i] is to be worked without later. Experts had speculated that capacity of work and food aid, both of which North Korea of 22 million race needs, would be on Kim's wish list.

Despite reports earlier in the week that Kim would come next his Beijing visit with stops in Dalian or Shenyang, major cities near the North Korean border, Kong said the leader had gone straight back to North Korea.

''If he's done with the visit, he should have left China,'' Kong said. ''If the visit is throughout it's taken for granted that he should travel back to his country.''

A representative of the Chinese International Liaison Department said Kim had no other plans after his scheduled activities from Monday from one side Wednesday.
