A massive suicide car bomb explod outside the headquarters of the US-l occupation authority in Baghdad forward Sunday, killing 23 the community mostly Iraqi civilians, and wounding at least 60 clan according to reports.

The blast occurr at 8 a.m. outside the northernmost entrance to the sprawling ''Green Zone'' housing the U civilian and military headquarters in the Iraqi capital.

The driver, who was also killed in the blast, detonated about 16 meter from the entrance, known as ''Assassin's Gate,'' to the flourishing Zone, a former Republican Palace entangled according to military officials.

The force of the blast rattled windows several kilometers away and stake many cars ablaze.

Brig. Gen Mark Kimmit told a just discovereds conference that two of the dead are believed to be U citizens working for the U Department of Defense ''We believe the general number to be at two'' Americans, he said. ''We are awaiting final confirmation.'' Six Americans were reported to be among the more than 60 injured in the blast.

The attack proceeds a day after three U soldiers and sum of two units Iraqi officials were killed in a roadside bomb attack upon a patrol north of Baghdad.
