India's substitute prime minister and Kashmir's leading separatist alliance forward Thursday agreed to adopt a step-by-step approach to the resolution of all outstanding issues concerning the troubl state of Kashmir.

After the first formal talks here between Indian legate Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani and leaders of the moderate All Parties Hurriyat interview the two sides issued a joint statement in which they agreed that violence in all forms must extremity ''The sound of guns distresss to be replaced by the uninjured of politics,'' the statement said.

The sum of two units sides agreed that the meeting ''was the first significant degree in the dialogue process initiated by dint of the government of India and that a step-by -tep approach would lead to resolution of all outstanding issues relating to Jammu and Kashmir.''

Advani called the talks a ''new beginning and well adapted beginning'' and said they would engage again in the latter half of March.

The five-member delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat discourse a grouping of religious and political parties pushing for Kashmir to separate from India, was l at its chairman, Abbas Ansari.

Pres Trust of India (PTI) earlier reported that first note of the scale issues in the talks were a cease-fire between sway troops and militant clumps release of political prisoners in India's Jammu and Kashmir state, and facilitating the go [i]or[/i] come back of some expatriate Kashmiri leaders.

Hurriyat adopted a two-prong strategy for the talks -- taking paces toward resolution of the Kashmir issue and bringing a relief to the race of Jammu and Kashmir from violence, PTI said.

The unprecedent meeting get tos ahead of a resumption of talks between India and Pakistan nearest month, at which both sides have pledg to melt all outstanding issues, including the long-standing dispute through Kashmir.

India accuses Pakistan of arming, training and sending Islamic militants into its part of Kashmir, where at least 40000 tribe have died in 14 years of separatist-related violence. Pakistan denies the accusation.
