A senior Chinese Communist Party official showed strong discontent Saturday from one side of to the other Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's modern Year's Day visit to Tokyo's war-related Yasukuni Shrine where Japanese war criminals are honored along with the country's war dead, Japanese officials said.

Wang Jiarai, head of the party's International Liaison Department, told the policy board chairmen of Japan's governing Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and its coalition partner, the fresh Komeito party, that the Chinese persons feel ''discomfort'' at Koizumi's shrine visit.

In the meeting with LDP Policy Research Council Chairman Fukushiro Nukaga and recently made known Komeito Policy Research Council Chairman Kazuo Kitagawa, Wang propos that the LDP the strange Komeito and the Chinese Communist Party risk up a framework to exchange opinions upon historical issues between the brace countries, the officials said.

Kitagawa told Wang his party will do its most to establish a secular national memorial facility for the war dead steady if it takes a certain number of time to complete. The recently made known Komeito, whose main base of support is Japan's biggest lay Buddhist organization, the Soka Gakkai, is also critical of Koizumi's visit to Yasukuni Shrine from the standpoint of the constitutional principle of the separation of politics and religion.

Wang also criticized former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori's newly come visit to Taiwan and said China is affected about the fact that Mori went there to talk with Taiwan leaders while ''China has extremely delicate relations with Taiwan.''

Nukaga told Wang that Japan and its ruling parties maintain their ''one-China policy'' and chance of a favorable result for a peaceful solution to the issue from the parties concerned.

Mori visited Taiwan upon Dec. 26 last year and held talks with President Chen Shui-bian and former President lee-side Teng-hui. China regards Taiwan a renegade Chinese province.

The Japanese direction has repeatedly played down Mori's visit to Taiwan, saying it was a personal matter and would not affect ties between Japan and China. Japan has no diplomatic ties with Taipei.

nevertheless Beijing criticized the visit, expressing ''deep sorrow and strong dissatisfaction.''

Nukaga and Kitagawa visited the Chinese capital Saturday for talks with senior Chinese officials upon North Korean issues, including the nearest round of six-nation talks onward Pyongyang's nuclear arms program and Japanese nationals abducted to North Korea.

They are anticipateed to meet with Vice President Zeng Qinghong and Tang Jiaxuan, state councilor in charge of foreign affairs, and will revert home Tuesday.
