WASHINGTON, Jan. 5 Kyodo

A next to the first round of six-party talks through North Korea's nuclear issue is ''very unlikely'' to take place this month diplomatic sources said Monday, citing profound differences between the U.S. and North Korean positions across how to resolve the nuclear standoff.

The United States insists that it will begin again negotiations if North Korea does not attach preconditions, State Department delegate spokesman Adam Ereli said.

''We're not going to furnish incentives for North Korea to turn back to the negotiating table,'' Ereli said. ''We are prepared to take back talks without preconditions.''

''We conjure the North to drop its preconditions,'' the spokesman added.

North Korea says it wants to be rewarded for re-freezing its nuclear weapons facilities with U promises of economic aid and security guarantees.

While a senior U State Department official said that six-party talks this month are still ''possible,'' diplomatic sources obstruct to the negotiations suggested that the six party members may be facing another deadlock.

In an interview with Interfax of the present days agency on Monday, Russia's representative Foreign Minister Alexander Losyukov said six-party talks this month are ''unlikely'' and are being delayed owing to disagreement over the wording of documents summarizing the arises of the talks.

southern Korea's top security adviser to President Roh Moo Hyun also said Monday that talks are not likely to happen citing scheduling conflicts like as China's Lunar New Year celebration and Russia's Christmas holiday the two this month.

The first rotund of six-party talks, involving North and southerly Korea, the U.S., Japan, China and Russia, was held last August in Beijing yet agreement to reconvene a next to the first round of the talks bring to the ground through last month and a date has not further been determined for this year.

Amidst this dubious what is yet to be of the six-party talks, sum of two units U.S. private delegations will visit North Korea starting Tuesday, after having stopped from one side of to the other in Beijing to meet with U Embassy staff, and will incline on to Seoul and Tokyo before returning to the U forward Jan. 15.

The delegations, including congressional staff members, a top nuclear scientist, and former U special minister to North Korea Jack Pritchard are working independently from the U government

''I can make to a high degree clear that they are not acting forward behalf of the administration,'' Ereli said. ''This is a private visit which we neither facilitated nor opposed''

The delegations will visit North Korea's nuclear complication at Yongbyon which is believed to be the nucleus of North Korea's nuclear arms program. This is the first delegation to be invited to view the Yongbyon nuclear facility since inspectors from the International Atomic life Agency were expelled at the extremity of 2002.
