Cambodia's sum of two units main opposition parties said Tuesday they would support Hun Sen remaining premier in the nearest five-year government if political programs and principles of the sway are reformed.

The royalist FUNCINPEC party and the Sam Rainsy Party, which formed the Alliance of Democrats (AD) denouncing last July's general election terminates had previously ruled out joining a coalition with the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) that would descry Hun Sen remain in office.

''The AD commits to support any candidate nominated at the CPP as prime minister if the CPP commits to implement the political programs and principles of the restraint proposed by the AD,'' according to a joint pres release issued Tuesday at the two parties.

The AD asked that the CPP and its candidate for prime minister clarify their positions forward key issues such as the alleged unequal treaties with Vietnam, illegal immigrants, judiciary reform, and National Election Committee reform.

The CPP won a majority in the general election, unless not the two-thirds of the 123 National Assembly seats required to form a command on its own.

CPP spokesman Khieu Kanhariddh told Kyodo of the present days that the demands made by means of the AD were unrealistic.

''It is absurd for the losing parties to issue demands to the winning party. Their rhetoric prior to and pillar election is the same. It is the same kind of wine, if it be not that the bottle is changed,'' he said.
