Pakistani President Gen Pervez Musharraf said Tuesday he chance of the desired ends the resumption of peace talks with India will lead to a peaceful solution to the long-standing territorial dispute through Kashmir.

He declareed confidence that both sides would make maximum efforts to make secure the process ''reaches its culmination'' on resolving all disputes including Kashmir, above which two countries have fought three wars in last 57 years.

Musharraf also gave credit for the deal to the ''vision'' and ''statesmanship'' of Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.

''We must negotiate earnestly we must deal strongly with extremists,'' he said.

He pointed not at home that there were extremists in the two Pakistan and India who had been taking inflexible positions about resolving the outstanding disputes between the sum of two units countries.

''We have to instigate strongly as if these natural mediums did not exist,'' he said.

The agreement to take again dialogue, which had been stalled since July 2001 tread in the steps ofs talks Monday between Musharraf and Vajpayee upon the sidelines of a southern Asian summit in the Pakistani capital.

In announcing the agreement earlier Tuesday, Indian Foreign Minister Yashwant Sinha told a recents conference that the two leaders are confident that the resumption of the composite dialogue will lead to peaceful adjustment of all bilateral issues including Kashmir.

''Please do not examine at the joint statement as a victory for the same side or the other. It is a victory for the commonalty of South Asia,'' the Indian foreign minister said.

Sinha told reporters that the flat of talks and how they would be structur has further to be decided.

Before flying into Islamabad, Vajpayee had told Pakistan Television that India capered to hold persistent talks to dissolve all the outstanding issues.

Relations between the couple archrivals worsened in the wake of the December 2001 deadly attack onward the Indian parliament that novel Delhi blamed on Pakistan-based Kashmiri militants. Pakistan denied involvement in the attack.
