The appeals court of the United Nations war crimes tribunal for former Yugoslavia in The Hague unanimously rul Monday that the massacre of 7000 Bosnian Muslims in Srebrenica in 1995 is rightfully qualified as genocide.

''The crime of genocide is singled without for special condemnation and opprobrium. The crime is horrific in its scope; its perpetrators identify entire human clusters for extinction. Those who devise and implement genocide look after to deprive humanity of the manifold richness its nationalities, races, ethnicities and religions provide,'' the court ruled

Srebrenica in eastern Bosnia is now known as the place where the same of the gravest massacres in Europe took place after World War II. Bosnian-Serbian [i]troupe[/i]s known as the VRS, killed more than 7000 men in the UN-protect band in July 1995. Dutch bands there to offer protection were not able to impede the murders.

The defense argued that the massacre should not be defined as genocide because women and children were not killed. yet Meron and other connoisseurs dismissed the argument.

In the same ruling, the dogma against Bosnian-Serbian Gen. Radislav Krstic was reduc to 35 years in prison because he alone aided and abetted by dint of offering material and troops to carry public the task without directly joining in the killings.

Krstic was initially sentenc to 46 years in prison in August 2001

He was head of the Drina Corps department which is responsible for the killing. It is not in addition clear where exactly he is going to work for his prison sentence. Kristic is the solely one to be punished for the crimes in Srebrenica.
