Japan forward Wednesday called for Iraqi support for its planned dispatch of Self-Defense Forces (SDF) personnel to assist in Iraq's reconstruction, saying they will not exercise military force, Japanese officials said.

At a meeting with a assign places to of Baghdad city council members, Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi also renewed Japan's commitment to provide reconstruction assistance for Iraq in areas desired by the agency of Iraqis, the officials said.
