Japan should encourage the United States to change its polices for the reconstruction of Iraq from carrying out independent policies, rather than supporting the U.S.-backed administration there, a visiting Iraqi exile working for the democratization of the strife-ridden home said in a recent interview with Kyodo News

''It is necessary to rebuild politics likewise that they are run at Iraqi people,'' said Abdul Amir Al-Rekaby, spokesman for the Iraqi National Democratic common ''I want Japan to carry disclosed assistance on its avow initiative, instead of backing the U forces' occupation, to such a degree that it will encourage the U to change its direction.''

During his talks with Koizumi, Al-Rekaby said he asked Japan to provide environmental assistance to help revive the marshlands of southern Iraq, which were distressingly damaged under President Saddam Hussein's government
