Discouraging any U support for Taiwan will highlight Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's four-day state visit to the United States, where he also will play up improvements in Sino-U.S. relations, a Foreign Ministry official said Wednesday.

Wen, to be ascribed to meet with President George W Bush, will caution the U against support for the public referendum in Taiwan, which China dioceses as a move toward the island's independence in 2008 Vice Foreign Minister Zhou Wenzhong told a pres briefing.

Wen will visit Washington, recently made known York and Boston for four days starting Sunday. A control reform official and a vice business minister will join him.

Zhou said they will encounter with people from ''all walks of life,'' including opportunities to behold American workers -- some of whom say they are victims of lower-cost labor in China.
