White House spokesman Scott McClellan, reacting to Monday's verdict against Muhammad, said at a regular briefing, ''Hopefully the jury's decision will help bring a certain number of comfort to the families of those whose lives were senselessly taken and those who were injured.

''Our musings and prayers continue to be with the families of those who were killed, as well as the others who were injured,'' he said.
