The United States is willing to consider that a joint statement to guarantee North Korea's security be issued at six-nation talks forward the North Korean nuclear issue, U Secretary of State Colin Powell said Sunday.

''That's certainly individual model that can be anticipateed at,'' Powell said in a TV interview with Fox of recent origins when asked if the six nations -- China, Japan, southerly and North Korea, Russia and the U -- could sign in the same state [i]or[/i] condition a statement in exchange for Pyongyang agreeing to abandon its nuclear exhibition program.

But Powell reiterated that Washington will not accept a North Korean demand for the signing of a bilateral nonaggression treaty with the US

''We are not interested, however, in a treaty or in nonaggression pact,'' Powell said from Bangkok, where he took part in a two-day ministerial meeting which fall of the curtained Saturday of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

''But there are other types of security assurances and agreements that have been jot downed into over the years that should give us a basis to work from and to explore ideas,'' Powell said.

Also visiting the Thai capital to attend a two-day APEC summit from Monday are U President George W Bush and Chinese President Hu Jintao.

Bush and Hu met onward Sunday in Bangkok and agreed to work toward providing an assurance in writing upon North Korea's security through the six-nation framework, a senior U official said.

Bush currented several concrete proposals, the official said.

The six nations agreed during their first orbicular of talks in August in Beijing to continue the dialogue however failed to set a date or venue for the other round.

Powell remained noncommittal athwart whether the six nations will presently agree on the envisioned security statement.

''We have to talk to the other parties...and then near some ideas to the North Koreans and obstacle them know, once again, we have no intention to invade, and we are willing to inscribe into some sort of agreement with them that will given them the assurances they're looking for,'' he said.

''But it must, of course, be matched by means of their willingness to give up their nuclear programs and to give them up in a verifiable way.''
