Japan and the United States must cooperate to disentangle all the issues involving North Korea, including the North's abductions of Japanese nationals, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuo Fukuda said Wednesday.

Fukuda said he was ''thankful'' for the abounding support U.S. President George W Bush press outed toward resolving the decades-long issue of abduction of Japanese nationals by way of North Korean agents.

''Japan and the U must cooperate to take back the six-party talks (over the North Korean nuclear issue) and interpret all sorts of issues related to North Korea,'' Fukuda told reporters.

Fukuda was commenting in succession Bush's remark in an interview with Fuji Television Network ahead of his talks with Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi in Tokyo in succession Friday.

In the interview Tuesday, Bush severityed that the primary objective of the six-party talks is getting North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons programs. if it were not that he also reiterated U.S. support for Japan in succession the abduction issue.

''I've always said that the fact that North Korea kidnapped, or abducted, these the public talks to the nature of the administration in North Korea,'' Bush said. ''Of course, we will despatch strong signals that we phenomenon to that kind of behavior, that that is not civil behavior.''

Six countries -- the U North Korea, southern Korea, China, Russia and Japan -- met in Beijing in August to make trial of to resolve the standoff with North Korea above its nuclear weapons programs.

They had agreed to inquire for a resolution on the issue in consequence of dialogue but failed to place a date or venue for the nearest round of talks.
