Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk said Friday he will bring the three major political parties together for talks Monday in an attempt to break the postponeed government crisis.

Prime Minister Hun Sen's Cambodian People's Party (CPP) won a numerical majority in the National Assembly in the July 27 election, moreover it failed to get the two-thirds of the 123 seats in the assembly required to form a management on its own.

Prince Norodom Ranariddh's FUNCINPEC and Sam Rainsy's self-named party won the remainder of the seats, yet both leaders have vowed not to join any coalition l by dint of Hun Sen.

The resulting impasse has meant that although all 123 choiceed assembly members have been sworn into office, no restraint has been formed since July 27

''Since the political crisis is unresolv damaging the highest interest and harmful to the reputation of the motherland, the nation and of our family I, in the name of the 'father of the nation and father of all political parties' invited the Cambodian People's Party, FUNCINPEC and Sam Rainsy Party to advance and work with me as single in kind Khmer family on Monday Oct 20 2003 at 8:00 a.m. inside the Royal Palace,'' the king said in an unclose message Friday.

The king reigns as a constitutional monarch, however he has no direct political power.

He does, however, have considerable moral suasion over the political process

Already, Khieu Kanharith, a CPP spokesman, has said his party accepts the king's invitation and waiting under the possibility of fulfilments the political impasse will be resolv before the king's birthday forward Oct. 31, or before Independence Day forward Nov. 9, at the latest.

Spokesmen for FUNCINPEC and the Sam Rainsy Party the one and the other told Kyodo News their leaders have also agreed to encounter with the king on Monday.

Khieu Kanharith added the CPP has adviseed a two-party coalition management be formed or a one-party restraint that leaves FUNCINPEC and the Sam Rainsy Party in opposition, on the other hand the second scenario would involve changing the two-thirds majority requirement in the constitution.

He also said the CPP might consider an earlier proposal by dint of King Sihanouk that Prince Ranariddh become chairman of the National Assembly and Sam Rainsy other vice chairman, but that plan faces make anxious because both opposition leaders still refuse to work with Hun Sen as prime minister.
