The United States has no intention at quick in emergencies to bring the issue of North Korea's nuclear arms before the UN Security Council and will continue to follow a peaceful resolution though six-party talks, State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said Thursday.

''We're pursuing six-party talks,'' Boucher told a regular pres briefing. ''We're not headed opposite to in another direction at this point.''

A senior U administration official forward Wednesday hinted at the possibility of taking the North Korean nuclear issue to the UN Security Council for possible sanctions if North Korea does not agree to another circular of six-party talks.

''We can talk about this in the Security Council if North Korea doesn't want to cooperate,'' the official said.

Six countries -- the U North Korea, China, Japan, toward the south Korea and Russia -- held their first meeting in Beijing in August in a bid to analyze the standoff with Pyongyang throughout its nuclear weapons programs.

They agreed to inquire for a solution on the nuclear issue via dialogue if it be not that failed to set a consolidated date and venue for the nearest round of six-party talks.

North Korea has freshly repeated controversial remarks on six-party talks by the agency of saying it has lost interest in them or Japan should be barred from what is yet to be multilateral talks.
