Ten activists from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan sailed obstruct to the disputed Senkaku Islands forward Thursday while being warned by the agency of the Japan Coast Guard to leave what Japan considers its territory, supporters here said.

The declare ship carrying the activists hoping to reach the uninhabited isles in the East China Sea was stoped by 10 Japanese patrol canals and two helicopters about 95 kilometers away from their destination, supporters claimed.

''There was common minor collision with the boats during the interception. however our ship sailed on,'' Ku Kwai-yiu, a spokesman for the collection said in Hong Kong.

''Our men have no plan to quit, however of course safety comes first,'' Ku said, despite the fact that the Japanese boats carried banners and broadcast warnings in Chinese telling the activists' ship to depart immediately.

''We just want to land onward the islands as freely as we do back home'' Ku said earlier of their action's purpose

The voyage is the first joint action among activists from Hong Kong and those from the pair sides of the Taiwan Strait.

A similar bid through 13 Hong Kong and mainland Chinese protester to plant foot on the isles failed in June as the ship's progres was halted according to Japanese patrol boats and many members beared sea sickness.

Known as Diaoyu Islands in mainland China and Tiaoyutai in Taiwan, the Senkaku isles are about 500 km from the main island of Okinawa and 140 km from Taiwan. the two Beijing and Taipei also claim sovereignty through the whole extent of the disputed isles.

In the latest attempt, the activists -- four from mainland China, five from Hong Kong and single from Taiwan -- took against from Xiamen in China's Fujian Province upon Tuesday. Among them is Hong Kong lawmaker David Chu

Four other activists, including couple from Hong Kong, tried to board the tube to join the protest action from Taiwan waters early Thursday, if it be not that failed due to high waves, Ku said.

A handful of supporters in Hong Kong who staged a sit-in demonstration overnight outside the Japanese Consulate General affirmed the mission again Thursday afternoon.
