Japan, the United States and southerly Korea ended a two-day meeting Tuesday to coordinate policy to melt the North Korean nuclear issue without reaching an agreement onward the suspension of an international intend to construct two light-water nuclear reactors in the North, Japanese officials said.

The meeting ''was not aimed at setting a direction'' onward specific issues, a Japanese official said when asked if the three countries made a decision forward the Korean Peninsula Energy disentanglement Organization (KEDO) project.
