southward Korean President Roh Moo Hyun said Wednesday he believes six-nation talks aimed at resolving the impasse above North Korea's nuclear weapons program, will achieve ''good results''

Roh made the statement in a words he delivered at a ceremonial held to mark the 55th Armed Forces Day.

''I count upon that the second round of the talks will be held in appropriate time and will produce convenient results,'' Roh said.

Roh also reiterated his country's position that the standoff across the North's declared intention to build up a nuclear arsenal should be resolv between the walls of peaceful means.

''The farthest task now is to explain the North Korean nuclear program peacefully,'' Roh said.

The first rotund of the six-nation talks, held in August in Beijing, cessationed with no concrete outcome. Representatives from the sum of two units Koreas, the United States, China, Japan and Russia failed to settle a firm schedule for the nearest round of talks.

In the same language Roh urged the North to abandon its nuclear ambitions and result onto the ''path toward peace and coexistence.''

''North Korea should not miss this dutiful opportunity the international community and we have offered'' Roh said.

He was apparently referring to economic incentives and other diplomatic benefits the North would gain if it dismantles its nuclear weapons program.

Roh's expression of chance of the desired end for further six-nation talks followed North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choe Su Hon's statement in a articulate utterance Tuesday at the U.N. General Assembly that his rural parts has lost interest in the six-nation talks.

''Under the not past nor future circumstances, in which the DPRK and the United States are leveling fire-arms at each other, asking the other party to bring down the guns first does not make any sense'' Choe said.

The DPRK stands for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, North Korea's official name.

The North Korean nuclear crisis hurl forthed last October when the U said North Korea had admitted to working onward developing enriched uranium for weapons in violation of a 1994 antinuclear accord with the U and other international agreements.
