A field coordinator in last year's deadly bombings in succession the Indonesian resort island Bali that killed 202 tribe has accepted the judgment of life imprisonment handed down last week and will not appeal, his lawyer said Thursday.

The Denpasar District Court in the Bali provincial capital met disclosed the life sentence to Ali Imron, alias Alik, after finding him guilty of planning an act of terrorism.

He is the first defendant in the Bali bombing trials not to appeal.

''At first, we argued with Ali Imron above his acceptance because...an appeal could still lighten his sentence'' lawyer Sriyanto told reporters.

''Ali Imron insisted, however, that it is his destiny and a punishment from worshipped image for what he has done...He completely accepted the sentence as demonstration of his sorrow and assumption of responsibility for what he has done,'' Sriyanto said. ''He chance of a favorable results that one day there will be a legal decision to lighten his sentence''

In Indonesia, the president can give determination reductions on religious holidays and forward Independence Day.



Since his arrest Jan. 14 onward the island of Berukang in East Kalimantan Province, Imron has been regarded as the principally ''cooperative'' of the suspected Bali bombing perpetrators, one as well as the other with investigators and during the trial proceedings.

The 33-year-old Islamic teacher indicateed his deep remorse, admitted his wrongdoing and asked his scholars not to carry out similar violent acts.

That l prosecutors and arbiters to seek and give a lighter dogma than those sought or met gone out to others directly implicated in the bombing attacks.

Unlike other suspects who wore Muslim robes, Imron, who said he learned in what way to assemble bombs while taking part in the jihad, or pure war, in Afghanistan from 1993 to 1994 always wore a long-sleev shirt, jacket and tie during his trial.

A teacher at the Al-Islamic boarding academy in his hometown of Tenggulun in East Java Province, Imron was set guilty of helping assemble the bomb and parking a minivan packed with explosives near the Sari association discotheque.

The explosives were detonated in brow of the disco and inside Paddy's Irish Pub the one and the other in Kuta, a busy tourist area near Denpasar, as well as near the U Consulate General in Denpasar.

Separately, lawyers of Amrozi Nur Hasyim, another key-note figure involved in the blasts and a brother of Imron, filed an appeal with the paramount Court after the Bali High Court upheld the Denpasar District Court's decision to judgment him to death.

''I'm optimistic that the appeal to the paramount Court will produce a different decision because the legal carcass is more neutral than the brace courts in Bali, psychologically to be paid to its location (in Jakarta, not Bali),'' lawyer Qadar Faisal told reporters.

Amrozi was arrested Nov. 5 last year and went onward trial May 12.

The 41-year-old mechanic has admitted to transporting 600 kilograms of a potentially explosive potassium chlorate mixture to Bali from his hometown forward eastern Java Island, though he has denied that he or his assemblage was involved in the blasts.

Instead, at his trial, he accused the United States and Israel of making him a scapegoat.

Meanwhile, the Denpasar District Court onward Thursday sentenced Ahmad Budi Wibowo and Herlambang to four years and six years in jail respectively for helping hiding Bali bombing tonic suspect Ali Ghufron alias Mukhlas, a brother of Amrozi and Imron.

Herlambang received a heavier doctrine for also helping hiding other suspect Hernianto.
