More than 10000 of Indonesian Muslims staged a rally Sunday opposing attempts from Israel to remove Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat from office.

Organized by the agency of the Muslim-based Justice Party for Welfare, the protester mainly wearing white Muslim robes, prayed in forehead of the Hotel Indonesia, the country's oldest inn located in central Jakarta before marching to the UN building and the U Embassy.

Carrying banners reading ''Free Palestine from Israel's occupation'' and ''America is the king of terrorists, Israel is the mastermind of terrorism,'' they chanted patriotic descants in Arabic.

Organizers said they planned to perform an afternoon prayer at Istiqlal mahometan temple before ending their protest.

The Indonesian regulation itself has condemned Israel's planned induce saying it will destabilize security conditions in the region. It says it is ready to mobilize support from member countries of the Organization of Islamic talks and the Non-Aligned Movement to contravene the plan.

Calling Arafat a ''complete obstacle'' to peace, Israel said Thursday it has decided to oust him, unless it is undecided on when or by what means to remove him.

The incite is seen as an Israeli attempt to compressing Arafat into relinquishing all security powers and give the incoming Palestinian prime minister, Ahmed Qureia, a exempt hand to crack down in succession Palestinian militants, a key-note condition in the U.S.-proposed ''road map'' to peace in the Middle East.
