Seventeen Maoist rebels, eight direction soldiers and one civilian were killed overnight in insurgency-related violence in Nepal, direction and media reports said Monday.

Meanwhile, the rebels Monday detonated explosives at six different targets in the capital city Kathmandu, killing common person, injuring a dozen others and damaging several dominion buildings.
