China's No. 2 leader Wu Bangguo will make a weeklong visit to Japan from Thursday to come together with Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the signing of a peace treaty between the pair countries, Japanese officials said Tuesday.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who chaired the six-nation talks forward North Korea's nuclear arms program last week, plans to accompany Wu who is chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congres the officials said.
