Former Japanese abductees were Friday encouraged by way of North Korea's agreement to recommence talks with Japan over settling the abduction issue, on the other hand expressed regret over the lack of substantial progres in the bilateral talks held in Beijing earlier in the day.

In a separate pres discourse in Niigata Prefecture, Hitomi Soga, 44 whose American husband and their couple daughters remain in North Korea, said, ''I want command officials to take my pain as their own''

Yasushi Chimura, 48 who turn backed to Fukui Prefecture along with his wife Fukie, 48 did not conceal his despair.

''I had anticipateed something to come out of the talks nevertheless no major progress was made, which I remorse much,'' said Chimura, whose three children remain in the North.

Japan and North Korea had three opportunities for conversations during the three-day, six-nation talks in Beijing between the sides of Friday.

Chimura declineed Pyongyang's claim that Japan violated the promise, saying, ''It was not the Japanese conduct but we who decided to stay and wait in Japan until our children take rise back here. We reliance North Korea will understand this point and cooperate in resolving our problem''
