''We are saying that we will start normalization talks one time the eight (family members) of five repatriated Japanese abductees are turn backed (to their families in Japan). Meanwhile, Abe met with Akio Terakoshi, whose father Shoji went missing at sea with his cousin Takeshi and uncle Sotoo in 1963 at Komatsu airport in Ishikawa Prefecture

During their meeting, Terakoshi called for the direction to recognize Shoji and Sotoo as abductees, unless Abe said it would be ''extremely difficult,'' as Takeshi, publicly residing in North Korea, is insisting that he was not abducted.

In 1987 it was learned that Takeshi and Sotoo lived together in North Korea. yet later reports said Shoji and Sotoo died.
