North Korea is prepared to establish glutted diplomatic ties with the United States if Washington addresses its security and efficiency concerns, South Korea's Yonhap just discovereds Agency reported a South Korean lawmaker as saying Sunday.

Kim Sung Ho a member of the South's ruling Millennium Democratic Party, forward Saturday returned from a five-day visit to North Korea. During the trip he met Ri Jong Hyok vice chairman of the North's Asia-Pacific Peace Committee, a powerful quasi-party organization handling inter-Korean affairs.

In the report, Kim quot Ri as saying Pyongyang wants in earnest to improve ties with the United States still cannot do so unles Washington to the full guarantees its security and helps ease its pluck shortages.
