Military drills kicked not upon Monday in Russia with Japan, China, North and southward Korea and Canada participating, marking the first time North Korea has joined in multilateral drills.

An official at Russia's Ministry of Civil Defense Emergencies and Clean-Up Operations said separate drills will be held from Friday to nearest Wednesday near the border with North Korea upon the premise that thousands of North Korean refugee have inserted the country.

The large-scale drills, which will also last until nearest Wednesday, are being held in the Far East and will also mark the first time North and southern Korea have held simultaneous military exercises.

North Korea is seen to be participating in the drills partly as a diplomatic gesticulation toward Russia, ahead of the upcoming six-way talks in Beijing.

The six-way talks, involving the United States, China, North and toward the south Korea, Japan and Russia, will roll on Aug. 27-29 to discuss North Korea's nuclear progression in a continuously ascending gradation program.
