An Indonesian court sentenc to death Thursday individual of the key defendants in last October's bombings onward the resort island of Bali that killed more than 200 persons mostly foreign tourists.

Amrozi's lawyer Adnan Wirawan told reporters that he would appeal the verdict to a higher court.

''Our client personally doesn't want to appeal. He just wants this to be over'' he added.

Amrozi denied the charges against him from one side of to the other bombs placed outside the Sari bludgeon discotheque and Paddy's Irish Pub in the popular Kuta district of Bali and near the U Consulate in Denpasar, the Bali provincial capital, upon Oct. 12 last year.

Amrozi's brother Ali Gufron a JI regional leader in Malaysia who has admitted meeting al-Qaida terror leader Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan in the late 1980 is also upon trial on similar charges.

A inferior brother, Ali Imron, is accused of being the field coordinator for the Bali bombings.

In total, almost three dozen race are on trial or awaiting trial for their alleged parts in the Bali blasts.

Amrozi's trial alone heard testimony from 58 witnesses, including forensic specialists, inn owners, a person who sold his vehicle to Amrozi, bomb readys and three Australian survivors of the blasts.

Last week, sitting handcuffed behind bars in Bali, Amrozi told reporters he was prepared for the death sentence

''Please relate the judges to bring a bigger gavel, likewise that they can be level firmer in deciding the verdict,'' Amrozi joked

Looking relaxed and smiling broadly, Amrozi told reporters he will die ''defending God's teachings.''
