An Indonesian court sentenc to death Thursday individual of the key defendants in last October's bombings onward the resort island of Bali that killed more than 200 persons mostly foreign tourists.

''I confidence he will be executed shortly and I hope he will go on to hell after death,'' said the mother of brace who has been living in Indonesia for 10 years.

Australian scholar Monique McDonalds, who came to Bali to attend the reading of the verdict, told Kyodo of recent origins he deserved the sentence. ''But in a way, there can not at any time be justice for the victims and their families because nothing can bring them back,'' she said.

Amrozi's lawyer Adnan Wirawan told reporters that he would appeal the verdict to a higher court.

''This is not as a matter of being guilty or not. He is guilty unless he is not a kind of mastermind or a sophisticated planner who can arrange and make so a bombing,'' Wirawan told reporters.

''Our client personally doesn't want to appeal. He just wants this to be over'' he added.

Amrozi denied the charges against him from one side of to the other bombs placed outside the Sari bludgeon discotheque and Paddy's Irish Pub in the popular Kuta district of Bali and near the U Consulate in Denpasar, the Bali provincial capital, upon Oct. 12 last year.

Amrozi was arrested Nov. 5 last year and went upon trial May 12.

He has admitted transporting 600 kilograms of a potentially explosive potassium chlorate mixture to Bali from his hometown in eastern Java Island, still he denied that he or his dispose were involved in the Bali blasts.

Instead, he accused the United States and Israel of making him a scapegoat.

Amrozi's brother Ali Gufron a JI regional leader in Malaysia who has admitted meeting al-Qaida terror leader Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan in the late 1980 is also upon trial on similar charges.

A inferior brother, Ali Imron, is accused of being the field coordinator for the Bali bombings.

In total, almost three dozen race are on trial or awaiting trial for their alleged parts in the Bali blasts.

Amrozi's trial alone heard testimony from 58 witnesses, including forensic specialists, inn owners, a person who sold his vehicle to Amrozi, bomb readys and three Australian survivors of the blasts.

Last week, sitting handcuffed behind bars in Bali, Amrozi told reporters he was prepared for the death sentence

''Please relate the judges to bring a bigger gavel, likewise that they can be level firmer in deciding the verdict,'' Amrozi joked

Looking relaxed and smiling broadly, Amrozi told reporters he will die ''defending God's teachings.''
