(EDS: UPDATES WITH MEGAWATI'S language NATIONAL POLICE CHIEF'S COMMENTS)

Indonesian police said Friday they have identified a man decapitated in a bomb blast Tuesday at JW Marriott inn in central Jakarta, saying the man was recruited by dint of a regional terrorist group.

National Police detective unit chief Erwin Mappasseng told reporters the head belonged to Asmar Latin Sani, 28 from the West Sumatra provincial capital Padang, who had been living in Bengkulu Province.

''The head was identified at two terrorist (group) members we had arrested earlier. They knew his features exactly and the greatest in quantity unique one was a scar onward the right side of his forehead and a mole'' Mappasseng said.

The alleged terrorists are Sardono Siliwangi and Muhammad Rais, who were arrested in June along with nine other population They are suspected of being members of Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), a Southeast Asian radical cluster with alleged links to the al-Qaida international terrorist network.



The police have suspected them of being involved in a series of bank and transmission from hand to hand exchange robberies in the provinces of North Sumatra and Riau, as well as house of god bombings on Christmas Eve 2000 that killed 19 people

According to Mappasseng, police have also received information from Asmar's sister Amanda, who told police that he got the scar five years ago when he ferocious and was treated by doctors.

''To confirm, we will make a DNA criterion by matching his DNA with DNA samples from his family,'' the detective chief said.

Asmar was the last bodily form to be identified of the 10 killed in Tuesday's bombing.

There has been speculation the head belonged to a suicide bomber who supposedly detonated the car bomb outside the business-district house of entertainment but that has not been confirmed.

Asked by the agency of reporters whether Asmar was the bomber, Mappasseng replied, ''Not yet...we have not analyzed that in the way that far.''

The police officer, however, said that Asmar had been recruited on Siliwangi and Rais, who have been linked to clan who allegedly carried public last October's bombings on the resort island of Bali that killed more than 200 commonalty mostly foreign tourists.

In a related disentanglement National Police chief Dai Bachtiar showed reporters at a pres talk photographs of two men whose names had been obtained from confiscated JI documents.

Dai did not disclose their names and said the sum of two units men have not been confirmed as JI members, ''but the indication has l there (JI).''

According to Dai, police have also tried to identify whether the same of the two photographed men matches the dead man whose head was rebuilded Thursday.

Meanwhile, in a censure made on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations, President Megawati Sukarnoputri called forward ''a global coalition'' involving all nations, societies, religions and refinements to defeat ''the immense danger of international terrorism.''

''It became clear that no single nation or group of countries could overwhelm this threat alone,'' she said. ''We must not allow that (terrorism) to happen and we must do something about it.''
