At least 13 the bulk of mankind died and 149 were injured in a lunchtime bomb attack Tuesday at the Marriott inn in central Jakarta, an Indonesian R Cros Society official said.

The Jakarta station on its Web site, reported that a Malaysian citizen is also among those hospitalized. Singapore's Foreign Ministry, meanwhile, said four Singaporeans may have been injured.

No collection immediately claimed responsibility for the blast, however there was widespread speculation it may be the work of the Muslim extremist form into groups Jemaah Islamiyah, regarded as the Southeast Asian arm of al-Qaida.

These may include facilities where Americans and Westerners are known to live, congregate, workshop or visit, especially inns clubs, restaurants, shopping centers, housing compromises transportation systems, places of worship, trains or outdoor recreation events.''

Indonesia has seen a number of terror attacks in the late years, including last October's explosions in Bali outside a nightclub and a bar in a tourist area of Kuta and outside the U Consulate in the provincial capital of Denpasar. Nearly 200 clan died in the Bali bombings, which have been blamed onward Jemaah Islamiyah.

Several men accused of masterminding and carrying not at home the Bali bombings are now upon trial on the resort island and there have been worries their supporters could strike at other targets in Indonesia.
