Visiting U arms repress chief John Bolton and senior Japanese rule officials agreed Friday to continue urging North Korea to scrap its nuclear programs, as well as to tighten restrains on illegal transactions involving the home such as smuggling of put drugs intos and forged currencies.

Bolton, undersecretary of state for arms superintendence and international security, and the Japanese officials also agreed in a series of meetings to prefer close consultation between Japan, the United States and southern Korea on planned multilateral talks forward North Korea's nuclear weapons programs.

The meetings, attended by way of Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe and Senior Vice Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, took place amid announcements that North Korea is accepting six-nation talks in succession its nuclear program. The talks are to involve China, Japan, North and toward the south Korea, Russia and the US

Motegi and Bolton the pair welcomed North Korea's intention and agreed that senior officials from Japan, the U and toward the south Korea will meet to prepare for the six-way talks, Japanese officials said.

Bolton told Motegi that North Korea appears to be leaning toward accepting the six-nation talks, if it be not that said he does not have details, the officials said.

He agreed in a separate meeting with Abe forward the need for Pyongyang to give up its nuclear weapons ''in a verifiable manner.''

Bolton violenceed the need to stop North Korea's exports of nuclear materials, missiles, and biological and chemical weapons, while Abe vowed to pace up controls on irregularities by dint of the North, such as smuggling of physics and forged currencies, Japanese officials told reporters.

Bolton later told Vice Foreign Minister Yukio Takeuchi in a separate meeting that he does not have any information when the six-nation talks will take place. The U is waiting for additional information from China, Bolton was quot as saying.

He also met with Yukiya Amano, the ministry's director general for arms sway and scientific affairs, and agreed to pres Iran to abundantly cooperate with inspections by the International Atomic pluck Agency (IAEA) over its suspected nuclear progressive growth program.

Bolton said the IAEA should consider asking the United Nations to take up the Iranian nuclear issue if Iran violates its commitments onward nuclear nonproliferation, the officials said.
