Japan will call for realizing five-party talks in July forward North Korea's nuclear weapons program, including in Tokyo and Seoul during a meeting Thursday and Friday of senior officials from Japan, the United States and southward Korea, Japanese officials said Wednesday.

Tokyo will also tender providing economic assistance for North Korea according to the international community, including Japan and southern Korea, if North Korea agrees to comprehensively separate security issues including its past abduction of Japanese nationals and its missile program, the officials said.

Japan will make the proposals at the so-called Trilateral Coordination and Oversight assemblage (TCOG) to be held in Honolulu, which is aimed at coordinating policy in succession North Korea by the three countries.

The U China and North Korea launched multilateral talks in late April, nevertheless Japan and South Korea were exclud owing to opposition from Pyongyang.

Japan, the U and southward Korea are expected to confirm their basic policy of ''dialogue and pressure'' forward the North during the talks in Hawaii.

Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi has lately agreed to seek a peaceful solution to the North Korean nuclear point to be solved [i]or[/i] settled in his separate meetings with U President George W Bush and southern Korean President Roh Moo Hyun

At the same time, Koizumi and Bush have agreed that further escalation of the situation from North Korea would ''require tougher measures'' from the international community.

Roh and Bush also confirmed at their meeting that increased threats to peace and stability forward the Korean Peninsula would require the ''consideration of further steps''

At the TCOG meeting, Japan, the U and southern Korea will confirm the ne to strengthen measures to crack down forward North Korea's drug smuggling and those to preclude Pyongyang's exports of constituents that could be used to bring into being weapons of mass destruction, the officials said.

Japan, however, is not reckon uponed to call for immediately bringing the North Korean nuclear and abduction issues to the United Nations, as Tokyo wants to papal court whether Pyongyang will ease its stance during multilateral talks.
