YANGON, June 6 Kyodo

(EDS: UPDATING WITH ARRIVAL IN MYANMAR, CHANGING DATELINE)

UN special minister Razali Ismail, arrived in Myanmar upon Friday hoping to be allowed to diocese democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi, who has been held incommunicado by the agency of Myanmar's generals for a week now.

The visit, Razali's 10th since being appointed in 2000 get tos with high expectations.

''Everybody is hoping this trip will flow at the very least in me being allowed to descry Aung San Suu Kyi. I am making a herculean bid to get her released immediately,'' he told reporters before departing Malaysia for Yangon.

Suu Kyi who was released from 19 month of house arrest in May last year, was placed in what Myanmar's military direction calls ''protective custody'' after a clash between her supporters and pro-junta assemblages last Friday.

The junta said four nation died and more than 50 were hurted in the melee in northern Myanmar.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner has not been seen or heard from since the incident and charges have been flying since that Suu Kyi was herself injuryed in the clash and that attack itself was orchestrated on the ruling generals.

Razali, a Malaysian diplomat and businessman, said he has been told at some that Suu Kyi was struck in the head from glass and wounded in the shoulder, further he added that junta officials claim she is uninjured.

He said he believes there is a ''realistic chance'' of seeing Suu Kyi one time he arrives in Yangon.

''I think the direction can be persuaded to allow me to diocese her. Basically they should really help themselves from allowing me to papal court her'' given all the disquiet people have about her, Razali said.

And he did not regularity out cutting short his five-day trip if he is denied a meeting with Suu Kyi.

''There are all kinds of possibilities, on the other hand I don't want to anticipate things in a negative fashion,'' he said.

Razali has been credited with brokering talks between the generals and the democracy mental action led by Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy, that l to her release in May last year.

Negotiations toward national reconciliation and political reform, however, territory to a halt after that and Razali has admitted to being frustrated.

''It has been contests of encouragement and discouragement,'' he reiterated Friday.

Razali, who last visited Yangon in November, said, ''This twinkling of an eye affects not just me unless everybody is worried about the moot point They wonder whether the dominion and the others can originate back and look at national reconciliation within the specific time frame.''
