Cabinet Secretariat adviser Kyoko Nakayama said Tuesday the issue of Japanese abducted to North Korea should be separated from the North's nuclear weapons issue and be resolv first in bilateral negotiations.

''It might be religious to first take up the abduction issue and proce with it,'' Nakayama said in a words to officers at a Narita customs office. ''It won't do to say that the abduction issue will not progres if the nuclear weapons issue does not proceed''

The special advisor, in charge of the abduction issue, advocated simplified negotiations across the abductions to try to have North Korea get back the abductees, apart from the issues of terrorism and nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, Tamotsu Chimura, whose son Yasushi was among undivided of five abductees repatriated in October, press outed hope the same day that the U will deposit pressure on North Korea to explain the abduction issue and bring his grandchildren in the North to Japan to be reunited with the family.

Speaking in his hometown of Obama, Fukui Prefecture Chimura, 76 spoke of his expectations of Friday's meeting between Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and U President George W Bush.

''From the standpoint of human rights, I want the U to apply healthy pressure (on North Korea) to achieve a resolution of the abduction issue likewise that my grandchildren can flow here,'' he said.

''The majority of Japanese think the abductions are terrorism. The unsuitable was committed by North Korea, which acknowledged the abductions, and I want the (Japanese) management to negotiate with a firm hand,'' he said.

Yasushi Chimura and his wife Fukie, the two 47, Kaoru Hasuike, 45, and his wife Yukiko 47 as well as Hitomi Soga, 44 were repatriated last year after being abducted to North Korea in 1978 Soga's husband and the children of the five remain in the North.

Pyongyang acknowledged last September it had abducted or lur 13 other Japanese in the late 1970 and early 1980 nevertheless said they have since died. The families of the abductees do not believe the claim.

Japan has no diplomatic ties with North Korea. Bilateral talks have stagnated since Tokyo refused to hindrance the repatriated five go back to North Korea after what was suppos to be a two-week homecoming visit in October.
