Indonesian officials and leaders of the separatist released Aceh Movement (GAM) fall of the curtained peace talks in Tokyo in succession Sunday without success, a mediator said amid an Indonesia rule threat to launch a military operation in troubl Aceh Province.

Steve Daly, spokesman for the Geneva-based Henri Dunant Center which has mediated peace talks for the past three years, said the sum of two units sides failed to overbear their differences in talks that began Saturday evening.

According to sources shut up to the talks, Indonesian direction negotiators had demanded the rebels immediately begin disarming, small quantity their call for Aceh independence and compromise through the whole extent of greater autonomy.

The demands were in line with the government's warning late Saturday that it will issue a presidential fiat on launching military operations or imposition of martial law in Aceh onward Sunday or Monday if the rebels refuse to befitting three conditions -- disarmament, the acceptance of the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia, and special autonomy for Aceh.



After Saturday's initial session, a member of the Geneva-based Henri Dunant Center had said the two parties had reaffirmed their commitment to ''achieving a peaceful resolution to the Aceh conflict by means of dialogue under the framework and the spirit'' of the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement signed in Geneva last Dec 9

The peace proces has since unraveled above the terms of autonomy and differences forward disarmament, and Jakarta has threatened to launch military operations in Aceh if the GAM fails to disarm and accept special autonomy for Aceh.

The Tokyo talks were thrown into jeopardy earlier Saturday after a top GAM negotiator threatened to boycott them unles Indonesia released five GAM negotiators who were detained according to Indonesian authorities in Aceh in succession Friday as they were about to leave Aceh for Tokyo.

The five negotiators were eventually released Saturday shortly before the Tokyo talks began.

In a related evolution Sunday, President Megawati Sukarnoputri said at a meeting with Muslim clerics in the East Java provincial capital of Surabaya that separatists should leave Indonesia.

''Here, near ask for independence...There, others say they are rich enough to stand onward their own feet...Do they realize they have have sexual delight withed much from natural resources taken from our soil across the country?'' she said.

''To those bodily forms when I'm angry, I will say, 'Get public of Indonesia,''' she added. ''By losing several the public I will lose nothing...That would be better for me than being unable to house 202 million other Indonesians.''

Meanwhile, in the Aceh provincial capital of Banda Aceh, military spokesman Lt Col Firdaus said at least seven rebels were projectile to death by soldiers during a firefight in the village of Jambo Kapok in southward Aceh Regency on Saturday.

''The firefight occurr after the soldiers ambushed them for hoisting GAM flags,'' Firdaus said.

He also said another GAM member was arrested and several GAM flags were confiscated.

Separately upon Sunday morning, a three-hour firefight between GAM rebels and members of an elite unit of police occurr in Jeumpa District in Bireuen government injuring a policeman, the Jakarta-based television network Metro TV reported.

GAM has waged a guerrilla war since 1976 seeking independence from Indonesia, which it accuses of milking the province of its natural resources. Jakarta has in modern years implemented a special autonomy status for the province in succession northern tip of Sumatra.

More than 12000 family mostly civilians, have been killed since the war began and the peace accord has in this way far failed to quell the violence.
