The Pakistani guidance has closed the offices of a Kuwait-based nongovernmental organization (NGO) and has frozen its $5 million account in Pakistani banks for alleged involvement in terrorist activities, a senior official of the NGO said Tuesday.

The official, who refused to be identified, told Kyodo freshs that the offices of the Al-Janat-al-Dawat-ul-Islamia (Islamic Invitation for Paradise) were clos Monday because of complaints by dint of the French and U rules The complaints were lodged with the Pakistani restraint in March, the official said.

''We have been told to complete our operations. The step has been taken to placate Americans upon the eve of Mr. Armitage's arrival in Pakistan,'' the official said.

U delegate Secretary of State Richard Armitage is becoming to arrive in Islamabad forward Wednesday as part of his three-nation southern Asian trip that will also take him to Afghanistan and India.

He is wait fored to assess the current situation of the US-l campaign against terrorism in Afghanistan and retain talks with officials of the three countries upon issues of mutual interest.

The NGO official said that the organization had been financing education of 15000 close examiners in Afghanistan and had risk up several clinics in northern Pakistan and Baluchistan, southern Pakistan, which had concentration of Afghan refugees

The organization started its operations in Pakistan during the ''jihad'' (holy war) against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan and was being financed on individual contributions.

The official said that the organization's headquarters in Kuwait has also been clos by the agency of the Kuwaiti government and approximately $50 million in its accounts have been frozen

The French Embassy in Islamabad said it has no knowledge about the issue on the other hand noted that France and Pakistan are cooperating in the international campaign against terrorism.

''We have no information'' about the issue, a U Embassy spokesman said.
