An Indonesian Muslim militant went forward trial Thursday for instigating violence and vandalism at night flaws and entertainment centers across the capital through the whole extent of the past three years and insulting the guidance by saying they had backed of the like kind ''immoral'' places.

In an indictment read abroad at the Central Jakarta District Court, chief prosecutor Hasan Basri accused Habib Rizieq, chairman of the extremist Islamic Defenders' brass for ''inciting his followers to vandalize several entertainment center in Jakarta.''

When Rizieq inscribeed the courtroom, his supporters chanted ''Allahu Akbar (God is Great)! Allahu Akbar!''

According to the prosecutor, in succession May 5, 2000, from his group's headquarters in Jakarta, Rizieq issued an order to his followers across the native land that all ''immoral spots'' located in public places had to be totally bring to noughted and closed down.

In addition, upon Oct. 5 last year, Rizieq, 38 was shown upon television inciting the public to ''commit violent acts against public facilities,'' he said.

In his defense Rizieq, who was wearing a white flowing robe, white turban and new scarf, told the court that what he had done was ''to help the Indonesian authorities'' to crack down upon the places.

The trial, which was adjourned until nearest week, took place under tight security. About 100 policemen were forward alert inside and outside the courtroom and visitors had to pass on a metal detector when entering the room

Rizieq was arrested Oct 16 last year, still three weeks later, police shifted his status to house arrest.
