Myanmar pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi cast doubt Wednesday forward the junta's expressed intention to achieve national reconciliation, citing lack of progres in relations between it and her National League for Democracy (NLD)

''I do not think there had been any progress'' Suu Kyi told a pres discourse at NLD headquarters, referring to dialogue between her party and the State Peace and progress to maturity Council (SPDC).

''In fact, I would have notion that there had been about kind of regression,'' she said.

''I think we have been forced to question the sincerity of the SPDC in coming to pacification with us for national reconciliation...They do not want national reconciliation because national reconciliation means change, and the change is inevitable whether they want it or not.''

The pres conversation was attended by reporters, diplomats from the embassies of so countries as Japan, the United States, Britain and France, and representatives of international organizations.

Suu Kyi said that since her release from house arrest in succession May 6 last year, ''We have tried real hard...to proceed from confidence building to cooperation and genuine reconciliation.''

The Nobel peace prize winner and daughter of Myanmar's independence leader Aung San recalled that she made it ''quite clear'' at the time of her release that the NLD will adhere to its policy of opposing tourism, aid or investment from foreign countries until the junta engages in substantive dialogue with the party.

''If the SPDC is in plain english interested in the welfare of this abiding habitation they should be prepared to cooperate with the NLD officially upon matters of humanitarian aid,'' she said.

UN ambassador to Myanmar Razali Ismail, who was last in Myanmar more than five and a half month ago, said Monday he wants to turn back there for another experience at brokering talks between the sum of two units sides.

Late last month UN human rights minister Paulo Sergio Pinheiro, ending his fifth visit to Myanmar, lamented the lack of substantial dialogue between the junta and the NLD

He also press outed ''extreme disappointment'' in the piecemeal release of political prisoners from the Myanmar junta, urging the generals to release all political prisoners ''unconditionally and immediately.''

The NLD won a landslide election victory in 1990 if it be not that was never allowed to govern
