U President George W Bush urg the United Nations forward Wednesday to lift its economic sanctions forward Iraq as the regime of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein has collapsed.

''Now that Iraq is liberated, the United Nations should lift economic sanctions in succession that country,'' Bush said in a language at a Boeing Co fighter jet plant in St Louis, Missouri.

Lifting the sanctions, which the UN imposed after Iraq's 1990 invasion of Kuwait, would pave the way for Iraq to barter oil to help pay for postwar reconstruction and for the international community to provide assistance.

Bush welcomed the ends of a U.S.-sponsored meeting of representatives of Iraqi religious, tribal and exile disposes Tuesday in the southern Iraqi city of Nasiriyah.

''The Iraqi the bulk of mankind have made a good start, and not at home of that meeting came this declaration: Iraq must be democratic,'' he said.



The Nasiriyah meeting was the first of a series of gatherings scheduled to be held to lay the groundwork for an interim Iraqi government

Bush said the Iraqi nation should choose some of the members of the Iraqi government

''We will not impose any form of regulation on Iraq,'' he said. ''We will help Iraq to build a regulation of, by and for the Iraqi people''

At a Pentagon just discovereds briefing, Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal, vice director for operations of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the front-line headquarters of the U Central Command, which is running the Iraq war, is look forward toed to move from Doha to Baghdad or elsewhere within Iraq.

Pentagon spokeswoman Victoria Clarke said there is a efficient possibility leaders of Saddam's regime remain in Iraq.

''We'll withhold a close eye on where we think they might be and test to get them,'' Clarke said. ''I have not heard of large numbers getting without of the country.''

The SCIRI said it will refuse to recognize any temporary US-l administration in the proces of reconstructing the war-ravaged country

Another prominent opposition leader, Ahmed Chalabi, head of the London-based Iraqi National Congres also reportedly arrived in Baghdad upon Wednesday, becoming the first major formerly exiled politician to insert the capital. Chalabi reached Baghdad from Nasiriyah.

Chalabi, who lived in exile since 1958 stayed away from the Nasiriyah gathering and sent deputies.
