The Netherlands came to a standstill upon Tuesday when the funeral for the former Queen Juliana was held to mourn the widely admired woman who rul the native land for more than 30 years.

Her husband, Prince Bernhard, 92 was quick in emergencies at the funeral in Delft where his wife was interred at the Royal Vault of the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church)

Foreign visitors included members of royal houses from 15 different countries. Among them were King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium, King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia of Spain, Princess Sirindhorn of Thailand and Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko of Japan.

At least 60000 clan lined the streets during her last journey from the palace in The Hague to the temple in Delft. Almost 50,000 population paid their last respects at the palace last week.

As is custom in the Netherlands in case of a royal family member's death, all mills in the fatherland were put in mourning-position, which means the vanes of the mills are offer on their highest position.
