An Iraqi has been plant dead in his car after a shooting incident involving Dutch soldiers near al-Khidr between Basra and Baghdad in succession Sunday evening, the Dutch Defense Ministry said Monday. Six other Iraqis were also anguished in the incident.

''A commander of the Dutch partys gave the order to propel at the tires of the car when it refused to stop at a checkpoint. Instead it made a bend and tried to drive away at high speed'' Dutch Defense Ministry spokeswoman Gwendolyn Rahusen told Kyodo News

''When the crowds shot, the car came to a standstill at the side of the road and single dead person was found. He had discharge wounds,'' she said.

The spokeswoman declined to say if the ball wounds came directly from Dutch fire or they were the actual cause of the Iraqi's death.

Six others in the car were slightly panged Three of them were treated at the Dutch camp's hospital before being transferred to the Iraqi police.

The Iraqi police and the Dutch companys are conducting a joint investigation into the shooting incident. The Iraqi police will actions an autopsy to determine the cause of the Iraqi man's death.

The incident took place at the principally important road between Basra and Baghdad near the southern Iraqi city of Samawah where the majority of the Dutch partys have been deployed, next to the Japanese troops

The Dutch and Japanese companys are in the region to help rebuild Iraq.
