East Timor President Xanana Gusmao declareed regret Friday over a modern decision made by his country's prosecutor to file indictments against seven former and general Indonesian military officers and a former East Timor top official.

''I consider that the implementation of this kind of legal proces in East Timor is not in the national interest,'' Gusmao told reporters at an airport in Bali forward his way home after attending the Non-Aligned mental action summit in Kuala Lumpur.

''The decision has been made without prior consultation with me This afternoon, I will fit with prime minister and the head of parliament to discuss its impact seriously,'' he added.
