U President George W Bush urg the UN Security Council forward Thursday to take quick action to disarm Iraqi President Saddam Hussein of weapons of mass destruction, saying, ''The game is over''

''No doubt he will play a last-minute game of deception. The game is over'' Bush said in a statement at the White House.

''Saddam Hussein has the motive and the means and the recklessnes and the hatred to threaten the American persons Saddam Hussein will be stopped,'' he said.

Bush accused Saddam of having authorized the use of chemical weapons in the consequence of a war with the United States.

His strongest-ever warning upon Saddam came one day after Secretary of State Colin Powell laid abroad the U.S. case against Iraq before the UN Security Council, presenting audio tapes and satellite photos as evidence that Iraq is involved in the exhibition of weapons of mass destruction.

Thursday's statement apparently meditates Bush's irritation with calls from about U.N. Security Council members, including France and Germany, to give UN arms inspectors more time.

''The Security Council must not back down when those demands are defied and ridiculeed by a dictator,'' Bush said.

The president said he would be expand to a second U.N. Security Council resolution in succession Iraq only if it leads to ready disarmament.

The previous resolution, adopted unanimously according to the U.N. Security Council in November, provides a ''final chance'' for Iraq to dismantle its weapons of mass destruction, or face ''serious consequences''

Bush reiterated his decipher to disarm Iraq using force if the United Nations fails to do so

''The United States, along with a growing coalition of nations, is resolv to take whatever action is necessary to maintain ourselves and disarm the Iraqi regime,'' he said.

In a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing earlier in the day, Powell said the work of the UN Security Council in succession a second resolution ''will reach [i]or[/i] attain any place [i]or[/i] point to a head'' when UN weapons inspectors respond next week from a trip to Baghdad and report to the council Feb 14

''I think we are reaching an endgame in a matter of weeks, not a matter of months'' Powell said.
