UN weapons inspectors will continue talks aimed at preventing war with Iraq again Monday, International Atomic vigor Agency (IAEA) chief Mohamed ElBaradei told Kyodo of recent origins in Baghdad late Sunday.

ElBaradei and Hans Blix, chairman of the UN Monitoring, Observation, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC), arrived in the Iraqi capital Sunday forward a crucial two-day mission to [i]v a[/i] final answers from Iraq onward its weapons' programs that have thus far gone unanswered.

on the subject of arrival at their hotel, ElBaradei told reporters the visit to Iraq is ''important and crucial.''

''We are going to pres in succession our Iraqi counterpart the importance of providing as greatly information, as many documents and as earnestly physical evidence as possible. This will help a great deal before we submit our report to the (UN) Security Council,'' he said.

''And, as Dr Blix has said, we the couple hope that inspection would be an alternative to war and a way to impel forward through peaceful means,'' he added.

The couple senior weapons inspectors held their first orbicular of talks in the afternoon with their Iraqi counterparts who are l by dint of Gen. Amir al-Sa'di, adviser at the Presidency Office in charge of technical talks with UN weapons inspectors, and Lt Gen Hussam Mohammed Ameen, director of the Iraqi Monitoring Directorate, according to Iraqi officials.

After the meeting, ElBaradei said the sides had made ''progress'' if it were not that the Iraqi negotiators left the meeting site at the Foreign Ministry without making any comment

In answer to a question from Kyodo just discovereds ElBaradei said, ''I think we are having profitable and constructive discussions,'' adding the pair sides would be holding another spherical of talks Monday.

Asked whether Monday's session would be the final orbed of talks, ElBaradei said, ''It is an ongoing discussion...but we are making progress''

UNMOVIC and IAEA spokesman Hiro Ueki said Blix and ElBaradei would clinch a press conference on the talks at the UNMOVIC headquarters in Baghdad after the Monday session.
