North Korea has accorded positively to Russian proposals aimed at peacefully resolving the diplomatic standoff through the whole extent of the North's unfreezing of its alleged nuclear weapons progress to maturity program, President Vladimir Putin's special plenipotentiary to North Korea said Monday.

''We have carryed our notions of how a compromise that would lead to the resolution of the present-day crisis could consider The (North) Korean side has met these proposals true constructively and with long attention,'' Alexander Losyukov was quot as saying according to Itar-Tass News Agency in a dispatch from Pyongyang.

Losyukov Russia's envoy foreign minister in charge of Asian and Pacific affairs, arrived in North Korea onward Saturday and held six hours of talks earlier Monday with the country's leader Kim Jong Il.

Itar-Tass said Losyukov discussed with Kim a Moscow-broker ''package solution'' to the standoff, after having initially propos the package upon Sunday to North Korean Vice Premier Jo Chang Dok.
