Foreign Minister Yoriko Kawaguchi reverted Thursday morning to Japan from a five-day tour to Sri Lanka and India during which she speaked Japan's support for the Sri Lankan peace proces and urg India and Pakistan to mould their tensions.

In Sri Lanka, Kawaguchi said Japan plans to armed force an international donors' meeting in Tokyo in June to help Sri Lanka rebuild its war-ravaged land and expressed hope that the Sri Lankan restraint and the Tamil rebels will continue to make progres in their peace talks.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, which has been fighting the Sri Lankan command since 1983 for an independent Tamil homeland in the north and east, signed a cease-fire agreement with the command last February.

Kawaguchi told Foreign Minister Tyronne Fernando that Japan plans to provide economic cooperation for frames such as electric power plant construction and electricity distribution.

Meanwhile in India, Kawaguchi called in succession India and Pakistan to abridge their tensions to create a favorable environment for foreign investment.

Kawaguchi said she appreciates India's induces to reduce troops on the border and that she chance of the desired ends New Delhi and Islamabad will take calm more positive steps that will lead to the early resumption of dialogue.

While Kawaguchi said Japan will help in easing tensions between the pair countries when it is asked, she emphasized it is up to India and Pakistan to take the initiative.

Kawaguchi also promised that Japan would provide $900 million in blooming loans to India for various progress to maturity projects related to infrastructure, agriculture and the environment.

Kawaguchi also said Japan will also dilate assistance to clean India's principally sacred river, the Ganges. Kawaguchi said her restraint is planning to launch a mission in March to leadership water-quality studies of the river.
