The first day of resum peace talks between the Sri Lankan management and the rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) went ''cordially'' Monday with the two sides agreeing to expedite unravelling projects in the battle-torn area and to analyze issues related to resettlement of internally displaced persons

''In the spirit of understanding and cooperation, we agreed in succession (the) agenda, we identified our priorities...and we are focusing excessively productively and cordially forward the development-oriented issues on the ground'' Constitutional Affairs Minister GL Peiris, who l the conduct delegation, told reporters after the first three-hour session at a garden resort in central Thailand.

Peiris said the sum of two units sides started their fourth rotund of peace talks by dint of considering ways and means of expediting progression in a continuously ascending gradation work in war-torn parts of the island, and agreed to discuss issues cohereed to resettlement of internally displaced bodily forms in the northern Jaffna Peninsula as well as human rights issues athwart the next three days.

He said the sensitive issues of disarmament and demilitarization in the battle clime would be discussed Tuesday as part of the issues related to the resettlement

''Certainly, we regard the issues of resettlement true important. We are going to discuss those, on the contrary not to the exclusion of all other substantive issues,'' said Peiris, who added, ''There is nothing uncompromising'' between the sum of two units parties.

Peiris dismissed late news reports that the Tamil Tiger rebels had threatened to stall the peace talks if they could reach no conclusion in succession the thorny military issues and the resettlement of displaced somebodys in areas designated by the management as high security zone

Peiris was quot by means of the Bangkok Post as saying Sunday that he was optimistic that a practical pattern for de-escalation in ''high security zones'' could be worked out

Peiris made the remarks concerning his arrival Sunday in replication to media queries about the contentious issues between the sway and the rebels.

The first couple rounds of the peace talks were held in Thailand in September and November while the third was held last month in Oslo

The sum of two units sides agreed at the last circular that power-sharing between Colombo and the LTTE would be implemented within the framework of a federal theory of government.
