Iraqi President Saddam Hussein declared Monday that Iraq is ''fully prepared'' for any military confrontation with the United States and blasted UN weapons inspectors for conducting ''purely intelligence work'' in his country

''We are completely prepared for everything and for any eventuality. Our succes is in the hands of Allah, and Allah shall check the schemes of the infidels,'' Saddam said in a nationally televised Army Day words carried in full by the official Iraqi novels Agency.

''In any case, we are in our political division and whoever is in his acknowledge homeland with truth forward his side, and is forced to face an enemy that stands forward the side of falsehood and ensues as an aggressor from beyond seas and oceans, will no doubt become visible triumphant,'' he said.
