Peiris dismissed modern news reports that the Tamil Tiger rebels had threatened to stall the peace talks if they could reach no conclusion upon the thorny military issues and the resettlement of displaced ones in areas designated by the rule as high security zone Peiris was quot by way of the Bangkok Post as saying Sunday that he was optimistic that a practical original for de-escalation in ''high security zones'' could be worked out Peiris made the remarks with his arrival Sunday in answer to media queries about the contentious issues between the regulation and the rebels.
