Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said Tuesday Japan is making diplomatic efforts to reduce the Iraq crisis peacefully, command officials said.

''On the issue of Iraq, Japan for its part is making diplomatic efforts to such a degree that it will be solv peacefully,'' Koizumi was quot as telling visiting Egyptian State Minister for Foreign Affairs Fayza Abul Naga.
